COUNTRYSIDE VACATION RENTAL

We have a drop dead gorgeous two bedroom bluff side cottage available with ocean, river and sand dune views. This gem comes with a deck, fire pit, elegant rustic furnishings and flat screen TV and wonderful sound system. There is a private bedroom with a queen sized bed and a spectacular sleeping alcove with floor to ceiling ocean views containing a second queen sized bed. Of course there is a full bath and fully equipped kitchen.

We call this treasure Pacific Dunes and it is about ten to fifteen minutes from Fort Bragg, close enough to enjoy great food and shopping yet far enough to provide total relaxation. Walk on the beach or through the dunes, be mesmerized by the waves or just lay on the deck with your favorite novel.

The best part is the price. We are renting the whole Pacific Dunes for $250 per night plus tax. There is also a one time $150 cleaning charge per stay. We require a minimum 4 day stay for weekends and 3 days during the week.

NATURE TOURISM

Did you know that over 45% of Mendocino County's land in protected from development and that we have more State Parks than any other County in the State? Probably not. I didn't either until I started investigating.

This means we have an over abundance of natural resources for guests and locals to enjoy. I'll include some to whet your interest. I have a list of qualified tour operators and can provide all the details you want. Naturally some of these activites are seasonable. Here it goes:

Horseback riding in the redwoods and on the beach. Horses are available for those like me who prefer slow and easy and horses for very experienced riders are plentiful.

How about mushroom ecotouring? Our local experts will take you to their special places and explain the dynamics of the industry and which ones to avoid.

Whitewater rafting is available on the Eel River and other places inland. Canoe and kayak rentals and tours, both in the river and ocean are available. There is a new guy in town who gives kayak lessons and training as well as private touring.

Mountain biking tours are in the area or you can just rent your own. This is one of the few places left in the state where Abalone Diving is allowed. All your gear can be rented. We are one of the birding hot spots. We can arrange tours with interpretive guides. Wildlife Trails and photography abound. There are more hiking trails than I can count. For those of you who like to give back on your vacations there are volunteer opportunities in many of the protected lands including habitat restoration and destroying invasive plants.
